Imam: Shaykh Mekaeel Mohsin
Shaykh Mekaeel has been with the community as Imam since 2017. He is a California native hailing from Bakersfield, California. After high school, he attended the Islamic University of Madinah and earned a degree from the school of Da'wah and Usuluddeen. Before coming to our community, he has been Imam in several other masajid in California. He is also a founder of the Voyagers of Knowledge YouTube channel, which creates Islamic educational content. Shaykh Mekaeel lives in Salinas with his family. He enjoys spending time with his children, archery and basketball.
Shaykh Ibraheem Mohsin
Shaykh Mekaeel is currently full time Imam at the Islamic Society of Monterey County. We have the privilege of Shaykh Ibraheem being able to come to teach in our Sunday School and give men's tajweed lessons Saturday nights. He is a California native hailing from Bakersfield, California. After high school, he spent onw year at IIASA. He memorized Quran in Yemen. Then he spent 7 years in Yemen seeking knowledge. He also completed one year at the Islamic University in Madina Munawarah. Shaykh Ibraheem is the brother of our Imam Shaykh Mekaeel and a founder of the Voyagers of Knowledge YouTube channel, which creates Islamic educational content. He lives on the Central Coast with his family. His interests include basketball, football and swimming.
